The developmetal period of B. nosatoi (days) was recorded on pupae of five herbivores, including the natural host, on which the parasitoid had completed its life cycle. Between host species differences in developmental period were tested for using ANOVA in GenStat. The residuals were homogenous and normally distributed (Bartlett’s test: v2 = 4.13, df = 4, P = 0.389; Shapiro–Wilk test: W = 0.975, P = 0.377).Brachymeria nosatoiOpisina arenoselladevelopmental periodalternative hostsdataset
