python scripts for performing a monte-carlo analysis of new particle formation event days using a dataset where the size-distribution data is acquired with a twin-DMPS system (Aalto et al., 2001), where the nano-DMA (measuring up to 40 nm, short Hauke type DMA) is quipped with two detectors: a TSI 3776 and a modified Airmodus A20 (Kangasluoma et al., 2015). Data acquired during in March-May 2017 at the SMEAR II station in Hyytiälä, Finland and archieved under doi:10.5281/zenodo.7962336 Scripts are associated with the publication Stolzenburg, Laurila et al. (2023), Atmos. Meas. Techn., "Improved counting statistics of an ultrafine differential mobility particle size spectrometer system" mc_main_170328_strongNPF.py runs the MC-analysis for the 28.03.2017 and an additional campaign overview. mc_main_170506_mediumNPF.py runs the MC-analysis for the 06.05.2017 mc_main_170505_weakNPF.py runs the MC-analysis for the 05.05.2017 other scripts are necessary input for these three main scripts. For running the main script, the data found in the above referenced doi needs to be stored in the relative path: './../data/'. only minimal comments provided.
