Description
Model files for calculating the inertial deposition loss of particles in pipes. These files are supporting information to the research article entitled “Finite Element Simulation of Aerosol Particle Trajectories in a Cantilever-Enhanced Photoacoustic Spectrometer for Characterization of Inertial Deposition Loss” published in Processes 2024, 12(12), 2827; https://doi.org/10.3390/pr12122827 . The models consider two cases:
(1) A bent section of a pipe
(2) An abrupt contraction of a pipe
The finite element mesh and solution fields have been cleared to reduce file size. In order to produce results, first run Study 1 to compute the flow field. Then, run Study 2 to compute the particle trajectories. Finally, evaluate the transmission to a table using the Derived Values node. Analytical equations from literature are also included within the model files.
The files are saved with version 6.2 of COMSOL Multiphysics.
