The survey focused on the 2006 presidential elections in Finland. First, the respondents were asked whether they had voted in the first round of the presidential elections. They were also presented with a set of attitudinal statements. Further questions covered whether the respondents' opinions on the candidates had changed during the campaign in the first round of the elections, and whether the respondents had used the candidate selectors / voting advice applications on the Internet. If they had, they were asked to name the candidate selectors they had used, whether the candidate selectors had been helpful in choosing a candidate, and whether the respondents considered the candidate selectors useful or playful. The respondents were also asked to assess their experiences in the use of candidate selectors with the help of statements. The respondents were asked which candidate they had voted for in the first round of the elections, and at which point they had finally decided on who to vote for. They were also asked to assess their voting behaviour with the help of statements. The respondents were asked which factors influenced their choice of candidate, from which information sources they had received information concerning their decision, whether they were going to vote in the second round of the elections, and which of the candidates they would vote for at the time of the survey. Finally, the respondents were asked which party or group they would vote for in the parliamentary elections if the elections were held at that time, which party or group they had voted for in the 2003 parliamentary elections, and which candidate they had voted for in the first round of the 2000 presidential elections. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age, marital status, education, occupation, annual income, and place of residence. The data also include a case id variable idnro, which can be used to append this data to FSD2138.
