Screening of intercrop herbivores as alternative hosts for Brachymeria nosatoi Habu (Hymenoptera: Chalcididae), the pupal parasitoid of coconut leaf eating caterpillar, Opisina arenosella Walker (Lepidoptera: Oecophoridae). The developmetal period of B. nosatoi (days) was recorded on pupae of five herbivores, including the natural host, on which the parasitoid had completed its life cycle. Between host species differences in developmental period were tested for using ANOVA in GenStat. The residuals were homogenous and normally distributed (Bartlett’s test: v2 = 4.13, df = 4, P = 0.389; Shapiro–Wilk test: W = 0.975, P = 0.377).
